There is an international Airport in Tashkent. It is located not far from down town. The main airlines flying to Tashkent is Uzbekistan Airways. Also, Asiana Airlines, Korea Air, China Southern, Czech Airlines, Air Baltic, Alitalia, Airlines of Ukraine, Aeroflot, Turkish Airlines, TransAero, British Airways, Air France have flights to Tashkent.
All participants (except those coming from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan) need to get Uzbek visa to visit Uzbekistan.
To get Uzbek visa one needs to apply nearest embassy or consulate of Uzbekistan.
All participants who need visa will be arranged visa approval through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
To do this we need the following information:
1) Scanned copy of your national passport
2) Your first and last names according to passport
4) Affiliation and its address
5) Your position
6) Dates of arrival and departure
Since most of the flight from Europe, U.S. and other Asian countries come to Tashkent, it is reasonable to fly Tashkent first and then go to Samarkand by fast train. Fast train leaves Tashkent at 8 a.m. (Mon.-Fri) and 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. (Sat., Sun.) and it takes 2 hours to get Samarkand from Tashkent by such train.
For those participants who will arrive in Tashkent first, we will book (prepaid) rooms in a hotel near the Tashkent airport and they will be picked up at Tashkent airport, settled in the hotel, transported from hotel to train station and will be picked up at Samarkand train station.
Train ticket fares (economy class costs 25 Euro) should be covered by participants from their own funds.

There will be 3 hours excursion in Samarkand city on Thursday afternoon and all participants may join in this excursion.
